During covid the ability to have live events was taken away from us, so things like Christmas Parties were off the table.
The Shutter Lounge is an interactive, beautifully designed virtual venue built to host virtual events and experiences. Developed in collaboration with Private Drama and Wise Productions, the space was used for private parties, conferences and award ceremonies.

LET THE SHOW BEGIN!
We developed an amazing virtual space within Unreal Engine, inspired by a 20’s, Gatsby'esque, cabaret environment to host parties and performances. Working with a wide range of cabaret artists, from dancers, singers to aerial performers all filmed against a green screen, and then camera matched to generate the same view within Unreal, merging the two together to deliver a seamless, immersive performance.
WORLD FAMOUS ACTS
Over the 5 live events, we worked with a wide range of world renowned acts and performers, from amazing dance routines by Aaron & Jasmine and Majella & Ollie to hilarious musical performances by The Alex Horne Band, conjuring feats by Magical Bones to epic stage shows by Tokio Myers, to name just a few.
The performers were filmed on a green screen stage from multiple camera angles.
Offline edits were made before the final shot selects were made. Those shots were then keyed before compositing.
Each performer had a unique backdrop created within Unreal Engine, that was then rendered out. We then composited the live action footage over the CG backdrops, added extra flourishes, such as light rays and other vfx at key moments before applying the final grading

LIVE MASTER OF CEREMONIES
Alongside the performers, we had a live host who could interact with the audience in real-time, responding to messages and guiding the viewers through their night.
LIVE DJ
After the performers, we had a live DJ set from DJ Emma, who took requests from viewers and helped them see the rest of the night out.
LIVE QUIZ HOSTS
We included live, interactive quizzes as part of the evening of events, hosted by Jimmy Carr and Stephen Mangan.
Participants were able to enter their answers via our interactive web app, and compete with their colleagues for maximum bragging rights.
MIXOLOGISTS
An interactive cabaret show wouldn’t be complete without a cocktail. We collaborated with Mix n Match’s mixologists to show the audience how to create the perfect accompanying cocktails.
Boxes with measured ingredients were sent to guests prior to the event, allowing them to create their own drinks for the evening.
