So I wanted to play around with cables.gl for a while now, so in some down time I went through the process of bringing my Backflip Creations logo to life.
With any new learning process, its a case of working through issues as you come up to them, and working out how you can do certain creative ideas step by step.
This was no different, using Cables node based system allows for logical linking of elements, but as I learnt, getting them in the correct order is all part of the fun.
INTERACTIVITY
As the final plan is to have this on my website, I wanted a number of different interaction methods that could be discovered by a user.
The first being the obvious one that the B logo rotates to follow your mouse cursor.
I then wanted something fun and exciting to happen if the user clicked their mouse, so through lots of learning and hard work I managed to get the B logo to expand outwards, slightly pulse whilst glowing more intently as they clicked and held their mouse down.
I had been working through the floating particle system to spin round when the user scrolled their mouse, but I ran out of time before I started my latest role.
